Product Description

KWIK-KLEEN® is a non-acidic, aqueous solution of environmentally safe chemical compounds used to reduce the build-up of concrete on molds and mixers.

Product Function

Kwik-Kleen stabilizes the hydration process of Portland cement preventing it from reaching initial set. This stabilization is not permanent and is controlled by dilution and application rate. Kwik-Kleen is applied to the mixer and the molds with a hand-held sprayer. Its chemical reaction prevents the concrete residue from setting. The concrete residue is then easily removed with minimal cleaning.

Mixers:

Spraying the surfaces of the mixer with Kwik-Kleen reduces the adhesion of concrete. Kwik-Kleen retards cement hydration and reduces concrete build-up thus reducing time consuming chip-out of the hardened concrete. As a result of the reduced cleaning time, a shift can run for a longer period, thus increasing production.

Mold Boxes:

Hardened concrete build-up in mold boxes makes cleaning a difficult and time-consuming job. When Kwik-Kleen is applied, the fresh concrete is stabilized or retarded. The mold boxes will clean up much easier and lessen the time spent chipping out the hardened concrete.

Additional Applications:

There are other applications where hardened concrete on the block machines create clean-up problems. Because of Kwik-Kleen’s ability to stabilize concrete, the product is also ideal for use in all areas where concrete build-up is a problem.

Application Information

For first time applications, dilute Kwik-Kleen 1:3 to 1:5 with water and apply a thin coat to the mixer or mold box (or other metal surface) after it has been cleaned. This should be done after every cleaning for 1-2 weeks.

After this “break in period”, Kwik-Kleen can be further diluted, but no more than 1:7, for future applications. Care should be taken to avoid puddling of Kwik-Kleen. The overall performance of Kwik-Kleen will dictate the final dilution rate.

All precautions defined on the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) for Kwik-Kleen must be followed.

Storage

Kwik-Kleen will freeze at approximately 32°F (0°C), but will return to full strength after thawing and thorough mechanical agitation.
